Science Week 2023

🧬🧪 Science Week! 🧬🧪

This week was Science Week and SMGS had many experiments happening! Students were out and about carrying out qualitative and quantitative studies on the local habitat 🍃 🐞 

Students were introduced to very specialist equipment, plasma ball 🔮 and the Van de Graaff. The plasma ball showed students how electrons move through you and to the ground when it is touched 💡 The Van de Graaff demonstrated static electricity and students could see electricity moving through the air!⚡️ There were science quizzes in classes, colouring of science posters and science jokes and dingbats outside the classrooms and labs. 🧪Stay up to date with the students in science as all 2nd year students will be going on a trip to Blackrock Castle Observatory and they can’t wait! 🙌 Thank you to all the science teachers in organising this week! 👏
