SMGS Ladies Football Update

Our Intermediate ladies football team played Castletroy of Limerick yesterday in Charleville. Castletroy won the throw-in and made a break down the field, our back were unable to stop them and they scored a goal. A quick kick-out resulted in Blarney finding space in the middle of the field, which led to a magnificent goal by Eimear O Reilly. Both teams were within touching distance throughout the first half. The half time score was 3:4 to 3:2 in favour of Blarney. Castletroy pulled away in the second half with the wind behind their backs. Our girls fought very hard but we’re unable to hold back the strong Castletroy team. The final score was Blarney 3:8 Castletroy 4:12.
