SMGS student Órla Leahy selected for RTÉ Youth Assembly

SMGS is very proud to announce that Leaving Cert student Órla Leahy has been selected as a delegate for the RTE Youth Assembly on climate change.

On Friday November 15th, RTE and the Houses of the Oireachtas will convene the country's first ever Youth Assembly on Climate in Dáil Éireann. It will be a chance for young people to discuss what Ireland needs to do to take action on climate and environmental issues. The Youth Assembly will see the 157 delegates from around the country focus and debate the following themes; environment, food and farming, economics, education and power. The delegates will discuss how Ireland needs to address the climate crisis, establish the next urgent steps for Ireland and present them to the nation. The final session, in the historic Dáil Chamber, will be broadcast on RTÉ News Now and Oireachtas TV.
