SMGS wish to congratulate Courtney O’ Regan from the Leaving Cert class of 2019 on receiving an All Ireland Scholarship from JP McManus. The scholarship was presented to Courtney on Saturday 23rd November by Irish Rugby Head Coach, Joe Schmidt. This scholarship will support Courtney’s third level studies while she undertakes a course in Speech and Language Therapy in UCC.

Mr. Sheehan as well as Courtney’s family attended the ceremony which took place in the Concert Hall at the University of Limerick.

The scholarships programme was established in 2008 to support many gifted young students across Ireland by providing them with financial support thus enabling them to participate in all aspects of university life. 125 All Ireland Scholarships from the 32 counties are awarded each year and 2019 will see the total number rise to 1,496, with 905 successful graduates having emerged with primary and post graduate degrees.
