For those of you who don't already know what exactly the student council is, it's a way for students to communicate with the teachers and make suggestions to better the school! Three people from each year are elected to be the voice for their whole year. We meet every week on Tuesday to bring forward any ideas that we or the student population had!
Now, you might be asking; “What do the student council even do for me?” and to answer that Iwill talk about some of the things that we have been talking about in our meetings.
At the moment we are discussing some of the suggestions that we have been asked about such as:
Expanding the shop menu to hopefully include things like: Soup and bread, vegetarian options, vegan options, options for people with allergies, and healthier food options.
Getting a board with a list of everything the shop sells and how much it costs. Having an “Arts week” on the 22nd-26th of April
Having a mental health awareness day/week
Reviving the Amber Flag Committee
And so on...
We are currently working in the background so if you're unsure if we are actually doing anything check back here where we will hopefully update regularly, or ask someone from your year who is on student council!
It is important that everyone's opinions are heard so don't hesitate to approach any of us to bring ideas to the table!
Thank you for reading and I will see you in the next update!
