An Dalta is aclaí

Ar an seachtú lá is fiche de Mhárta, cuireadh Comórtas ar siúl darb ainm ‘An Dalta  Aclaí’ i Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál. Bhí sé eagraithe ag GaelFórsa. Bhí sé ar intinn againn go nglacfadh cailín agus buachaill amháin ón Idirbhliain,  ó chúigiú bliain, agus ó séú bliain páirt sa chomórtas. Faoi dheireadh, ba é Jack Twohig an buachaill is aclaí agus Grace Ní Bhriain ab ea í an cailín is aclaí. Sa chluiche ceannais, bhí Grace Ní Bhriain in aghaidh Jack. Bhuaigh Grace an suí in aghaidh balla ach bhuaigh Jack na Burpees agus na suíonna aniar. Fuair an bheirt acu duaiseanna mar bhuaiteoirí. D’fhreastail slua mór ar an gcomórtas agus d’úsáid siad a gcúpla focal. Mar sin, bhí an-rath ar an gComórtas.

On the 27th of March, the competition entitled ‘The fittest student’ was held in Scoil Mhuire gan Smál. It was organised by GaelFórsa. It was our intention that two students, a girl and a boy from TY, 5th and 6th Year  would take part in the competition. In the end, Jack Twohig was announced as the fittest boy and Grace O’Brien as the fittest girl. Then there was a final between Grace and Jack. Grace won the wall sit and Jack won the Burpees and sit up challenge. The two of them received prizes as winners. A huge crowd attended the competition and they all used their few words of Irish. The competition was a huge success.
