SMGS Soccer Update

SMGS soccer players have made an encouraging start to the year.

The Under 19 boys side drew 2-2 against Patrician Academy, with notable performances from James O'Connell, Evan Murphy, Craig Hourigan and Jason O'Riordan. The final league match is against Ashton.

The Under 15 boys side came back from a goal down to beat a strong Carrigaline side 3-1 after extra time. Jack O'Leary, Luke O'Sullivan, Evan McCarthy and supersub Conor Nolan were the star performers. They now face Coláiste an Chraoibhin Fermoy in the next round.

The girls Futsal team played in a 4 team Cork qualifying competition, winning their first match, and losing the second. In their final match, one goal would have been enough to qualify for the Cork Finals but the match finished goalless. Well done to all the girls for taking part in the matches and in training.
