First Year Girls Basketball

1st year girls basketball who won 55/22 against St. Mary's, Midleton on Friday. The girls were 10 points ahead at the end of the first quarter with Vada Murphy leading the scores along with baskets from Natalia Drabent and Bolu Ugwah. The girls kept up the momentum when Rachel Harte and Ella Lesniak came on the court and their speed was a force to be reckoned with, with Avril O'Sullivan bringing the team to 33 at the end of the second quarter. After the third and fourth quarter St. Mary's clawed back a few baskets, but SMGS proved unstoppable with the addition of Katie O'Donovan and Abby Condon, with the final result of 55/22. Huge congratulations to the team whose determination, skill and teamwork reflect the amazing result on Friday. Well done girls 👍
