Basketball progress to last four of National Cup

SMGS U16 boys basketball secure their spot in the All Ireland Semi Final after a tremendous victory over Pobal Scoil Sliabh Luachra, Rathmore.  The date and venue for this match are still to be confirmed. Today's squad was as follows; Eli Lenihan, Kelvin O'Donoghue, Matthew McCarthy, Mark Maguie, Emmet O'Shea, Isaac Eroutteh, Connor Finnegan, Jack O'Leary, Ruairi O'Mahony, Valintine Petrov and Ayrton Cashman.
The first to take to the court was Matthew, Eli, Kelvin, Jack and Mark who set the standard for the next 32 minutes. Jack O’ Leary was the first to put Blarney on the scoreboard followed by many three pointers from Eli and Kelvin throughout. The top three scorers today were Eli with 17 points, Kelvin with 15 points and Mark with 12 points.  Blarney’s excellent defence dominated throughout with Mark and Eli jumping for every rebound. The final score was 70-57.
