Match Report 1st and 2nd Year Girls Basketball 🏀

Blarney vs St Angelas 1/03/2019

Well done to our 1st and 2nd year girls’ basket ball teams who played against St Angelas today. It was a win win day, with great determined performances from both teams. Our 1st year team had a close quarter to start, with a tight score of 6-2. It took a while for both teams to settle down, but once we played our second quarter, the team was on a roll and we knew we were on for a win. There was great scoring from Izzy Mc Sweeney, Jane O ‘Riordan and Kelsey Cooper.  It ended with a final score of 31-12.

The second years were off to a good start with a score of 10-2 after the first quarter. The game proceeded to be tight even though we were inching ahead all the time. St Angelas put up a good challenge and we could not afford to let our guard down at any stage. Saoirse Breen and Michelle Ugwah clocked up impressive scores of 17 and 16 points respectively.  All 14 players got a run today and were happy to take our 5th win of the league with a score of 39-26.

Both teams  are now moving on to the quarter finals.
