Last week 1st years started out playing against Christ King in a very exciting and tough game. In the 3rd quarter they fought hard to lead the game and had to keep working together to maintain that lead. 10 seconds left and SMGS were up 2 points, but unfortunately Christ King snook in a 3 pointer resulting in a loss for SMGS by 1 point (31-30) Gutting for the girls but they played so well together!

A strong first half display had SMGS leading 2-8 to no score thanks to staunch defending and excellent attacking play. A determined Crescent College came out in the second half but SMGS kept the pressure on and won on a scoreline of 4-15 to 3-2. Well done to all the panel.
